09.06.2016Latvija ir 32. mierīgākā valsts pasaulē, un situācija mūsu valstī ir mierīgāka nekā abās pārējās Baltijas valstīs, liecina domnīcas "Ekonomikas un miera institūts" veidotais Pasaules miera indekss ("Global Peace Index").
Igaunija indeksā 163 valstu vidū ieņem 36.vietu, bet Lietuva - 37.vietu. Pērn Latvija bija 33.vietā, Igaunija - 39.vietā un Lietuva- 35.vietā.
Latvija un abas pārējās valstis ir starp zemēm, kur miers ir augstā līmenī.
Par mierīgāko valsti pasaulē institūta pētnieki atzinuši Islandi, kam seko Dānija, Austrija, Jaunzēlande, Portugāle, Čehija, Šveice, Kanāda, Japāna un Slovēnija. 11.vietā ir Somija. Visās šajās vienpadsmit valstīs miera līmenis ir ļoti augsts.
ASV atzītas par 103.mierīgāko valsti pasaulē, Ķīna ierindota 120.vietā, bet Turcija ieņem 145.vietu. Pirmo reizi indeksā iekļauta Palestīna, kura atzīta par 148.mierīgāko pasaules valsti.
Krievija Pasaules miera indeksā ieņem 151.vietu un ir starp 15 valstīm, kurās miera līmenis ir ļoti zems. Šo valstu vidū vēl ir Nigērija (149.vieta), Ziemeļkoreja (150.vieta), Kongo Demokrātiskā Republika (152.vieta), Pakistāna (153.vieta), Lībija (154.vieta), Sudāna (155.vieta), Ukraina (156.vieta), Centrālāfrikas Republika (157.vieta), Jemena (158.vieta), Somālija (159.vieta), Afganistāna (160.vieta), Irāka (161.vieta), Dienvidsudāna (162.vieta) un Sīrija (163.vieta).
Kopumā Pasaules miera indeksa autori secinājuši, ka pēdējā gada laikā pasaule kļuvusi mazāk mierīga, tomēr savu sniegumu salīdzinājumā ar pagājušo gadu uzlabojusi 81 aplūkotā valsts un teritorija, bet 79 valstu un teritoriju sniegums pasliktinājies. Pagājušā gada laikā visvairāk pasliktinājusies miera situācija divos rādītājos - terorisma ietekme un politiskā nestabilitāte.
Pētījuma autoru aprēķini liecina, ka vardarbības izmaksas pērn bija 13,3% no pasaules iekšzemes kopprodukta jeb 1876 ASV dolāri (1653 eiro) uz katru valsts iedzīvotāju.
Šis ir desmitais Pasaules miera indekss. Pirmo reizi šāds pētījums tika veikts 2007.gadā, un sākotnēji tas aptvēra 140 pasaules valstis un teritorijas. Pētījumā valstis tiek izvērtētas pēc 23 kritērijiem, tādiem kā vardarbības līmenis, organizētās noziedzības līmenis, militārie izdevumi, demokrātijas attīstība, atklātība, izglītības līmenis un labklājība.
